BMW M5 Performance Air Intake by Dinan — Stage 2 Carbon Fiber (2000–2003). A cold-air upgrade engineered to supply the S62 with cooler, denser airflow.

Extensive testing found the factory air-temp sensor in the Air Mass Meter can heat soak in traffic, causing the engine management to pull timing. Dinan relocates the sensor for accurate data and steadier output, then replaces the air boxes with twin high-flow filters and large, low-turbulence plumbing. Filters mount behind the bumper below the headlights, isolated from engine heat, with added shielding and revised fog-light trim that encourage fresh airflow. With Dinan Stage 2 Engine Software, gains up to +5 hp and +4 lb-ft at 7000 rpm are possible. 50-state legal: CARB EO D-176-21.
