We recommend the race core for cars making over 900 rearwheel horsepower. Below 900 the less expensive street core may be used. Thicker is not always better, the race core is built slightly thinner than the street core for optimal placement from the SC discharge to the core, and the core to the lid. PWR's proprietary bar and plate design transfers heat so well the extra thickness is not necessary.
