The primary difference between the two models lies in their strength: the forged Beadlock wheel is tested for a wheel load of 2,500 kg, while the Casted Beadlock is designed for a load capacity of 1,800 kg. Both wheels are constructed to allow tire mounting with or without a spreader ring.

What is Beadlock Technology?

Beadlock is a mechanical device that securely connects the tire to the wheel. In a standard wheel design, the tire is held against the rim by air pressure. If air pressure drops, the tire loses its grip and can come off the wheel, which can happen due to a puncture or intentionally lowered air pressure for off-road use to increase traction in sand, snow, or mud. To prevent this dangerous situation, delta4x4's Beadlock technology uses a spreader ring to press the tire firmly against the wheel flange, ensuring the tire remains securely attached to the wheel, whether inflated or not.

Even under extreme acceleration or braking, the friction forces between the wheel and tire may not be sufficient, causing them to twist against each other. The Beadlock system prevents this by mechanically locking the tire in place. The term "bead" refers to the rim seat, hence Beadlock means "a tire mechanically locked in the rim seat."

Originally from the military, this technology ensures that vehicles remain operational even after complete tire air loss. Military vehicles can travel up to 100 km at 80 km/h even after a tire loses all air, thanks to Beadlock technology with a spreader ring and a run-flat element.

Beadlock wheels are increasingly used in civilian applications, such as armored vehicles, expedition vehicles, and long-distance rallies. Here, the advantage is the ability to lower tire pressure to a minimum without the tire coming off the wheel.
